Teaching Kids the Art of Vision

January 2011 is Vision Month as part of Kapatid Martial Arts’ Powerful Words Character Development program! Students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on vision and goal setting in a fun and powerful way that benefits everybody in our community. In addition to all of the physical skills that they’ll be developing this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts that will help them to appreciate the value and benefit of setting and getting their goals.

What The Students Will Discuss About VISION

Both In And Out Of Class:

• Picture it: What will my goal look like once achieved?
• Sense it: What will my goal feel/sound like once achieved?
• Believe it & achieve it: How can I state my goal & show I believe in myself?
• Focus and celebrate: How do I stay calm during tough spots & celebrate success?

“Goal-setting and visioning are important skills for everyone—including children.” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, Kapatid Martial Arts’ child & adolescent expert, and creator of the POWerful Words Character Development program used at the facility. “The earlier they learn, practice and incorporate these skills into their lives, the more adept they will be when the stakes are higher as they get older.”
